LOVE THE CITY – Basket Brigade

As the holiday season approaches, Praise Centre’s Love The City ministry is seeking your support for our Christmas initiative to bless those in need within our community.  

We are collecting food and personal hygiene items to help homeless individuals and families facing difficult circumstances. These donations will be gathered and sent to the Melbourne Basket Brigade.

The Basket Brigades work with local grassroots community groups and organisations that assist families in need. This partnership strengthens their capacity to deliver vital services and enables them to identify those most deserving of support.

In Australia, the Basket Brigades operate through the Magic Moments Foundation and depend on hundreds of volunteers across the country to execute one of the largest logistical efforts imaginable. The Basket Brigades believe it is important to share our blessings with families who may not have food to eat during the holidays. While the gifts we bring may seem simple and ordinary, the seeds we plant in the lives of the people who receive our baskets have an extraordinary impact.

DONATION COLLECTION DETAILS:

Collection dates: 17 November – 1 December 2024

Where: Drop off your donation next to the drink fridge (near the entrance of Praise Centre Church).

  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Adult wet wipes
  • Feminine hygiene pads
  • Sunscreen
  • Instant hand warmers

Non-perishable foods (with longer expiry period):

  • Tea bags
  • Jams/ spreads
  • Long life milks
  • Jelly crystals
  • Rice
  • Pastas
  • Pasta sauces
  • Canned fruits and tomatoes
  • Biscuits/wafer/crackers
  • Pancake mix
  • Dried foods
  • Wheat Biscuits (WeetBix)
  • Canned Foods (not tuna)
